So I told Veronica to take a hike and pickpocketed some security cards from the head honchos at the bunker. House and pretend they'd been dealt with. House after helping the BoS end their lockdown and regrettably there was no option to lie to Mr. I had just finished helping them rebuild the bunker after trekking through three different vaults to locate some hard-to-find parts for them. This was not a decision I reached lightly. I felt that in order to keep up my ruse with Mr. When I switch the names around so that the original file is "FalloutLauncher.exe" it goes to the graphic options screen, as expected. I don't know how or why, but running FalloutLauncher_BACKUP.exe in that scenario seems to fire up FalloutLauncher.exe (and goes straight to game). (I renamed the FOSE one "FalloutLauncher.exe" so that I could still launch via Steam, like normal.) OOH, you just put me on the right path, thank you! I was, in fact, testing with the original FalloutLauncher file - but I had renamed it to FalloutLauncher_BACKUP.exe when I replaced it with the FOSE launcher. This dialog allows you to choose graphics adapter, aspect ratio, resolution, antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, detail (presets low, medium, high, ultra and default there's also an Advanced button that presents another dialog that lets you play with various detail settings), mode (windowed and/or vertical sync), screen effects (none, bloom or HDR) and a check box Show All Resolutions. That will display a dialog with the familiar PLAY, OPTIONS, DATA FILES, TECH SUPPORT and EXIT options.Ĭlicking OPTIONS produces the Fallout 3 Options dialog.
It takes me to the config menu when I launch, and then I start the game from there.Īre you talking about the Fallout Launcher? Try launching FalloutLauncher.exe in your Fallout 3 install folder. I don't have the same problem with New Vegas. I've tried the original launcher instead of the FOSE launcher and still no luck. I disabled GFWL, made the executable large address aware, set up FOSE. I don't know what I did to bypass that menu.
Does anyone know how to do that? I don't mind clicking through every time I launch I'd like to change this behavior back, if possible. I need to get back to that config menu in order to change my resolution, etc. I just modded the crap out of Fallout 3 (for the first time) and I'm now realizing that the config menu that used to pop up when I launch the game isn't showing up anymore. Rather than necro the Fallout 3 thread, I figured I'd try here first. Like if my objective is to return Rex to the King, we can safely begin preloading the Kings' HQ if the player travels to Freeside, making entering almost instant. But really though, I think you should be able to fast travel to and from interiors you've been to before.
How lame is that? Mods that put fast travel points in all the sections help a little. Ditto the FONV strip being sectioned off into three areas, and Freeside into two. Especially since you have to come back and then you can go back to sell them blood packs for profit, but not with all the travel and load screens involved, it's just not worth it. For example, when you discover The Family in FO3, there should be an option to open a path that goes right to the Overworld, rather than having to go all the way out through the gatekeeper guy and then the tunnels. It just needed, and maybe NV does as well, some convenience modding. I wish someone would necro the Fallout 3 thread. or Esc instead of Tab if you use the keyboard. Probably a stupid question, but can't you pull it up from inside the game? Back instead of B to pull up system menu instead of game menu.
